Words and Pictures

January 18-21,  2010 / Instructors: Justin Henderson and Donna Day
Travel writing and travel photography go hand in hand—but very few people can do both well. If you feel you have that double edged sword in your hand, and perhaps it merely needs a little sharpening, then this is the class for you—taught not by someone who can do both words and pictures, but taught, instead, by a married couple who have traveled together and worked together while traveling, shooting and writing. Donna Day is the photographer,  and I, Justin Henderson, am the writer. Donna has over 25 years experience as a professional photographer, while I’ve been at the writing business for even longer.  Together we visited and photographed projects in Russia, Jamaica, Mexico, Spain, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Bali, and half a dozen other countries and states. We have had our work published in numerous magazines including Interior Design, Architecture, Interiors, Travel + Life, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles, and in several books including Museum Architecture, Jungle Luxe, and Roland Terry, Northwest Architect. We’re now living here in Sayulita and have agreed to teach this workshop on that which we know and love, travel writing and travel photography. So bring your laptop and camera and get signed up and plugged in.

You can check out Donna’s work at donnaday.com, and you can check out my fiction at jjhenderson.net/blog and my non-fiction right here at sayulitawritersworkshop.com, click on bottom turns at top and you can read my as yet unpublished surfing memoir.
